EPNGAF ProductsEPNGAF Catttle Farming

Quality food is the most important thing in our life

I. Current Status and Assets

EPNGAF currently maintains cattle as part of its multi-species farm, contributing to both meat and dairy production:

  • Products: The farm currently produces Premium Beef and Quality Milk and Cheers from Cow and Goats.
  • Inventory and Investment: The farm has well-fed bulls and has made a prior purchase of 10x Female with Two Males Beef Cow, though a different source records the purchase of 5 female beef cows and 2 male beef cows costing K32,000.
  • Infrastructure: The farm invested K15,000 in the construction of the Cowpad & pig pad using materials like buff wire, nails, transport, and labor.
  • Integration: Cattle play a role in the farm’s eco-farming strategy, as the manure from cattle constitutes farmyard manure, which is used to maintain soil fertility of the crop fields.
  • Staffing: EPNGAF has farmhand staff specifically dedicated to working on the Piggery and Cow farms.

II. Planned Commercial Upgrade and Funding

The commercial proposal outlines significant expansion for the cattle sector:

  • Expansion Target: The farm plans to introduce 50 cows onto the sprawling 200 hectares of land.
  • Dedicated Infrastructure Funding: The upgrade plan earmarks K150,000 specifically for Cow Farm Fencing and shed costs.

III. Future Products and Processing

The commercial upgrade will allow EPNGAF to expand its cow-related products through specialized processing:

  • Beef Meat Products: Future beef offerings will include specific cuts such as fillet, stewing steak, and silverside.
  • Value-Added Beef: Beef meat will be processed into Mechanically Recovered Meat (MRM) products, including pies, burgers, sausages, spreads, and pates.
  • Beef Dairy Products: The farm plans to produce an expanded range of dairy products such as milk, cheese, butter, cream, and yogurts.

IV. Projected Income and Sales Targets

The farm anticipates substantial income from the fully commercialized beef operation:

  • Annual Volume: The projected Number of Beef/Cows every year is 20.
  • Average Revenue: The Average Revenue per Animal is set at K3,000.
  • Annual Income: The projected Number of Beef Products Sold Per Year is K60,000.
  • Monthly Sales Breakdown (by weight): Monthly sales are detailed based on animal age and weight, estimating a total monthly sales revenue of K60,000:
    • 12 Months Old (400–450KG): K3,000 per animal (20 units).
    • 19 months Old (580–610KG): K4,000 per animal (20 units).
    • 24 Months Old (720–800KG): K5,000 per animal (20 units).
  • Shipment Revenue: A single 25–28 Tones shipment of beef (20 Foot shipped) is estimated to generate K300,000.
  • Income Note: The farm expects the Monthly sales of the same amount of both cow and pig to continue in the second year and beyond.

About Farm LandFarm Land Mess

The Ebuta PNG AgriFarm (EPNGAF) is situated in Birop Village, Upper Mendi, Mendi SHP, Papua New Guinea. The sources provide detailed information regarding the size, structure, and planned utilization of the farm’s land mass.

I. Total Land Mass and Potential Expansion

  • Total Single Family-Owned Land: EPNGAF has a single family-owned total land mass of 300 hectares mapped.
  • Potential for Lease: The farm possesses the potential to expand this land further. If they leased neighboring family land, the total size would be almost 100+ hectares more than the existing mapped area.
  • Land for Commercial Expansion: The current strategic expansion plan targets establishing the diverse array of livestock, including pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats, bees, trout, and cows, on a sprawling 200 hectares of land.

II. Land Subdivision and Zoning

The total land mass is subdivided into distinct operational zones to ensure organized and efficient farming practices:

ZonePurpose/Function
Zone 1Processing Centre, Feed Production, and Fish
Zone 2Meat Goats Only
Zone 3Piggery and Chickens
Zone 4Milking Goats Only
Zone 5Cattle with ALL 4 zones above

III. Utilization of Land Resources

The farm’s operational philosophy integrates the use of its land resources with its livestock production:

  • Customary Land Use: The farm operates on the principle that farming is a vital way to generate income by using unused customary lands.
  • Social Impact: Utilizing this land resource for farming is seen as a way to solve law and order issues, urban migration, drugs, alcohol, and many illegal activities.
  • Infrastructure Location: The property is situated near the Mendi River, where the Rainbow Trout Fish Farm pond is currently under construction. Specific infrastructure, like the Mini-Hydro system for electrification, is planned for Zone 1 & 5.
